SHE may have been voted out of TV's Strictly Come Dancing but actress Lynda Bellingham will be among the guests invited to the dance floor at the Mayor of Yeovil's charity ball.

Mayor Wes Read will host the ball at Westland Leisure Complex, Westbourne Close, Yeovil on November 27.

In aid of Leukaemia Research and the Alzheimer's Society, the evening includes a four-course dinner, dancing to the band Fairplay and music by Midwest Radio's Steve Carpenter. Lots at a charity auction on the evening include tickets to see the television show Loose Women and meet the stars, including Mrs Bellingham.

Other lots include a signed England 2009 football shirt, ice skates signed by the contestants and judges of TV show Dancing On Ice and dinner for six cooked in your own home by the proprietor of Mulberry's Bistro in Yeovil.

A tombola gives the chance to win the use of an Audi cabriolet for a weekend.

Mr Read said: "On behalf of myself and my chosen charities, I would sincerely like to thank everyone who has kindly sponsored or donated prizes to this year's Mayor's Ball. Without their support and those attending on the night, the ball would not continue to be as successful and, in turn, raise much-needed funds for both Leukaemia Research and the Alzheimer's Society".
