Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo are to begin filming their new movie The Kids Are Alright.

The Hannibal actress and the Collateral star will team up on the flick with Annette Bening, Josh Hutcherson and Mia Wasikowska, reports Variety.

The plot sees a brother and sister seek out the sperm donor of their same-sex parents, played by Julianne and Annette.

Mark plays the sperm donor in the film, directed by Lisa Cholodenko.

Jeffrey Levy-Hinte, Celine Rattray, Daniela Taplin-Lundberg, Philippe Hellmann and Gary Gilbert and Jordan Horowitz are the movie's producers.

Mark is thought to have just finished filming Martin Scorsese thriller Shutter Island, in which he stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

Julianne is also set to star in the eagerly anticipated political drama The Special Relationship - in which she will play Hillary Clinton.
