TWO Sherborne students have won awards for their services to the community.

Gryphon School pupils George Botley of Yeovil and Freya Lumb of Marnhull, both 18, were invited to a Sherborne Rotary Club dinner last month at the Sherborne Hotel to be presented with the Aubrey J Allen award.

Martin Hewitt, junior vice-president and the club's youth activities co-ordinator, said: "The annual Aubrey J Allen award gives this club another opportunity to show our appreciation of the links that we have built over the years with The Gryphon School.

"Freya and George left their mark at the school, not just with their academic success but also through their personal enterprise and service in the local community."
