First state-of-the-art imaging equipment in UK rolled out at Dorset Count Hospital
Cardiologists at Dorset County Hospital are the first in the country to use new state-of-the-art imaging equipment.
A generous donation by The Dorset Health Trust helped fund the £70,000 Optical Frequency Domain Imaging System (OFDI) for the Dorset County Cardiac Centre.
OFDI is an imaging system that can look inside coronary arteries using infrared light. The system will help the diagnosis of fatty-build-up, blood clots and problems with coronary stents.
Consultant Cardiologist Dr Fraser Witherow said: "We are delighted to have received this grant from the Dorset Health Trust.
