'Every point is precious' as Poole Pirates host Swindon Robins
POOLE Pirates cannot 'let anything slip' as their Elite League playoff challenge hangs by a thread ahead of today's meeting wit the Swindon Robins.
The Pirates host the reigning Elite League champions at Wimborne Road - knowing they have plenty to do in order to secure a top four finish.
The Robins have already guaranteed a playoff place - but will be pushing to secure top of the table.
"It is all down to us now" explained Pirates team manager Neil Middleditch. "We have suffered a few slip-ups in our last two matches but we have to put that behind us and learn from that experience.

"Every point now is precious and I mean every race point. We can't afford to let anything slip.
"The climax of the season is building nicely and while that is great for the sport in general - it certainly increases the pressure on all the riders."
This afternoon's meeting will see four riders from the weekend's Grand Prix challenge at Wimborne Road go head-to-head again.
Swindon's Troy Batchelor and Hans Andersen will be looking to hand the Robins a win, with Tomas Jonasson and Maciej Janowski hoping to give the Pirates a fighting chance of reaching the playoffs - with the season coming to an end.
"The riders are up for it and a good vocal encouragement can do nothing other than inspire them on" added Middleditch.
"We have some big meetings remaining - but we can only concentrate on us - we cannot worry about what others do."
