ADDITIONAL yellow lines could soon be drawn along a number of residential roads in Wimborne, putting more pressure on the car parks in the town.

In November, the decision to close Old Road car park - which offers 43 parking spaces - was criticised by business leaders. The site will be used to build up to eight homes.

No waiting at any time to be introduced along the south side of New Borough Road.

Town, district and county councillor Robin Cook said: "These proposals follow a detailed appraisal of waiting restrictions carried out in the town over the last year or so. They have taken into account residents' comments about parking on local residential roads. Some of them are part of a 'tidying up' exercise where common sense has been used to sort out some anomalies. Some have also been designed to address dangerous parking in places such as parts of the Allenview area."

Mr Cook added that comments supporting or objecting to the proposals need to be logged in writing to the County Council by 11th January 2013.

He said: " I would stress that residents look carefully at those areas that may directly affect them and act accordingly.
