Walking on Hambledon Hill, near their homes in the Iwerne Valley, Emma and Rae got talking about the financial crash, and what they could do to help. "We wanted to do something that would be fun, would support local businesses and would bring something colourful to the local area," says Rae.
They hit on the simple idea of the Anonymous Travelling Market, a food and craft market that brings some of the best food producers and makers in the region together, in village halls, starting earlier this year at Iwerne Minster.
The second market is at Pyt House, where shoppers will not only find some familiar names from the first market, and from other foodie events, but some new talents. Since it's June, there will be ice-cream, from Buttercup and Daisy, who make delicious organic ice cream at Wardour.
There will also be local meat, an oyster bar & seafood BBQ, bread, honey, cheese, relishes, cakes, beer, coffee, tea - and Emma and Rae's own delicious home-made fudge - plus the free raffle with a chance to win some wonderful local produce.
Craft stalls will include needlework, felt making, jewellery, clothes alterations/repairs (bring items along), bee keeping and there will be music from Clayesmore Prep Jazz Band and dancing by Steps in Time.
