Five-month road closure for water works in Sherborne starts today
WATER works beginning in Sherborne today are expected to continue until January next year.
New pipelines are being laid, which will result in a lane closure in Bristol Road for 50 metres from the reservoir today until January 16, 2013.

Two-way traffic lights will be in force.
Another road closure will be put in place at the end of St Aldhelm's Road for one week during the school half-term holiday from Monday, October 29, to allow a new pumping main to be laid.

Project manager Jonathan Barker said: "We apologise for the inconvenience these essential works may cause.
"It is important the work is carried out to ensure the quality of the water supply in the area is maintained.
"Traffic lights will be monitored at peak times to try and keep disruption to a minimum."Â
Wessex Water has written to residents who will be directly affected by the work.
