Call for drivers to car-share
DORSET County Council is urging residents to think more about their journeys in a bid to lower fuel costs.
The council hopes people will consider car sharing as a way of cutting down fuel bills and helping the environment.
The push comes as the Car Share Dorset website is re-launched.
The site, which allows visitors to search for potential car share partners, has been revamped and now has a savings calculator which shows how much money could be saved.

Hilary Cox, from the county council, said: "Running a car has mounting costs, in terms of petrol, maintenance and parking expenses.
"Car sharing makes perfect sense. It's a fantastic way to save money, reduce congestion on our roads and is a sociable way to travel.
"I would encourage everyone simply to register their journey and do a search. No matter where you live, you'll be surprised to find how many other people are going your way."
Those without a car and looking for a lift are also being encouraged to sign up, and so are businesses.
The website, www.car sharedorset.com, has over 3,600 members across the county, with monthly registration figures up 40 per cent compared to 2012.
