A SMALL team from Shaftesbury headed to Haiti two weeks ago to help with the disaster relief. Flor White was in Haiti in 1994 working in a children's hospital but was forced to leave as the threat of American invasion loomed. She vowed to go back - and now she is. The plan is that Flor, an aid worker, along with nurses Philippa Baddeley and Stella Rhodes, go to work along side medical teams already there.

Bright Tomorrows is providing help for the relief efforts and also assessing possible ways they can support local projects for children in Port-au-Prince in the longer term. With so much uncertainty over whether children's parents are actually dead or alive and with the general state of turmoil at this stage, Bright Tomorrows does not support or condone moving orphaned children from the country.

Donations can be made through the DEC or through the charity Bright Tomorrows. For more info call 01747 854993 / 07760 999475.
