Three arrested by police investigating Weymouth assault claims

The arrests are in connection with two incidents that happened within minutes of each other at around 4.30pm on Monday afternoon, between the bus station and Swannery car park on Commercial Road.
Police said two people, aged 23 and 35 from the Weymouth area, were reportedly approached by a group of men, with one being head-butted and the other punched in the face.
The victims, who were not known to each other, escaped without serious injury.

PC Steve Brown said: “These two alleged assaults appear to be connected to the same group of men.
“I would like to speak with anyone who witnessed either of these incidents, or has any information about those involved.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a silver-coloured car, who was forced to stop at the scene to avoid a man who was walking in the road."
Two boys aged 17, of no fixed abode, and a 19-year-old man from Weymouth, have been arrested and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 17:344.
