Youthfest set to hit Wimborne this half-term
THERE'S a special treat in store for young people living in and around Wimborne this half-term when a specially-arranged fun day comes to Colehill.
The Youthfest has been organised by the Upper Stour Valley Community Panel, one of Synergy Housing's neighbourhood panels. It will take place between noon-4pm on Tuesday, 30th October, at St Michael's Middle School in Colehill Lane.
The fun day will feature a wide range of events including a military vehicle display, juggling, and a visit from Merlin the Wizard. There will also be a Halloween-themed fancy dress competition which will be split into three age groups: under three, four -12, and teens. And, whatever the weather, the event will go ahead. After being forced to cancel the original Youthfest back in August, the organisers have arranged for the activities to take place under cover, should the rain return.
Jeff Morland, chairman of the Upper Stour Community Panel, said: "Each year, Synergy Housing asks our neighbourhood panel to choose two local offers to deliver to our residents. The offer chosen this time was titled 'To encourage young people to engage with local community groups'. We were also keen that it should be a day young people could attend and enjoy with their whole family.

"Events like the Youthfest are vital as they help us to show local young people how they can get involved and make a real difference to the area they live in. We've got some excellent activities lined up and we'd love to see as many people as possible coming along."
