Youth club seeks volunteers
FOR many years and particularly in rural communities, youth clubs have offered young people the opportunity to socialise, have fun and learn new skills, and the Berwick St John Youth Club is no exception.
The success of the club is due entirely to the continued dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers. Jayne Sanger, who has been the driving force behind the Berwick St John Youth Club for more than eight years, has decided to retire and the committee is now looking for a volunteer to replace Jayne. In addition, secretary Julia Hall is also standing down after 12 years in the role.
With around 40 members aged between nine and 18, the club serves an entirely rural area rolling from Broad Chalk to Ludwell.
They recently returned from a very successful adventure weekend in Weymouth and took part in dragon boat racing at the Olympic Sailing Centre, where the instructors commented that they were the most enthusiastic and well behaved group of young people that they had seen all summer.

All volunteers will have to be CRB checked which will be organised by the Youth Club. For more information on volunteering for the Club please contact Julia Hall 01747 828354.
