Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has again denied knowledge of a link to AFC Bournemouth, telling fans he is "loving" his current job.

The Glovers' boss last week emerged as a bookies' front-runner for the Cherries vacancy just hours after Paul Groves exited the Goldsands Stadium.

Fans chanted Johnson's name whilst asking if he "hated Bournemouth" during the Huish Park outfit's 3-1 defeat of Colchester United yesterday afternoon.

The former Bristol City and Latvia chief said his focus on the game meant he did not hear the specific terrace songs, adding he was committed to improving Yeovil.

He said: "I read some people have chastised me - 'he's had six defeats so he can clear off if he wants'. But it's nothing to do with me.

"I haven't asked, I have not had contact, there's nothing. This is the focus, this is 100 per cent here. This is what we want to do and we have got to get Yeovil competing at this level.

"They (the fans) can clap Manchester United, Arsenal, whover. The job is here, of course it is, and I am loving the job. I am not not enjoying it. I might look like I'm not at times but I am loving it and I want to help this group of lads and our two coaches - all of us - to better ourselves."

Paddy Madden's debut double guided the Glovers to their first win since the beginning of September and Johnson said he, if anyone, should shoulder any blame for the recent poor form.

"There are no excuses," he said. "Some people have already made excuses. I know I try to be honest with everybody and if people don't agree then speak up.

"Don't make up things that aren't there because for every one person that puts something out there 2,000 are reading it. Some people are reading something twice and start believing it.

"If anyone needs to know the truth speak to me, ring me, write me a letter and I promise I will tell them exactly the truth."
