A woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a blaze in the bedroom of her home in Poole.

Firefighters wearing breathing sets extinguished the flames at the property in Belben Road, Alderney, at 2.05pm yesterday using three hose reel jets.

The Fire and Emergency Support Service crewed by Red Cross volunteers was requested to provide temporary accommodation for the 55-year-old resident.

The blaze caused extensive fire damage to the bedroom and severe smoke damage throughout the property.
