A woman was headbutted in the face after an argument outside a Weymouth bank.

A 24-year-old woman was assaulted outside the HSBC branch on St Mary Street at around 4:50am on Sunday February 3.

A verbal altercation took place between the victim and two unknown women - before the 24-year-old was headbutted.

The victim suffered an injury to her nose, with the offenders fleeing in a taxi.

Police Constable Simon Anderson of Weymouth Police said: "This attack has left the victim with a nasty facial injury.

"It's believed the woman that committed the assault got into a taxi and fled the scene immediately after the incident.

"I am urging anyone who saw this assault take place or has information about those involved to contact police as soon as possible in confidence."

No-one has been arrested by Dorset Police in connection with the assault.
