Wincanton Street Market returns
MARKET traders are returning to Wincanton this weekend.
More than 1,000 people visited Wincanton Town Team's inaugural market last month and organisers are hoping that local people will turn out in force again for Sunday's sale.
Problems with securing a road closure mean the October market will move from the High Street to Carrington Way car park. The bazaar will start at Julian Shave's flower shop, where he will be selling fruit and vegetables, and continue past the library to the lower level of the car park.
Organisers say there will be 40 stalls selling local produce and crafts from 11am to 3pm. Other attractions include Wincanton Silver Band, buskers and a stilt-walker.

Katie Petre-Mears of Wincanton Town Team said: "We had lots of positive feedback on the first market, and this one will be even bigger and better. The only thing we can't organise is the weather, so we've got our fingers crossed.
"The future of the markets hinges on the support of local people so we're urging everyone to come and see. The response to the three trial markets will dictate whether and how the event proceeds."
