Wimborne shop twins with toilet
MOST local towns have twinned with counterparts in Europe and further afield, but a Wimborne shop has gone one step further and twinned with a toilet in a remote Asian village.
Square Corner has a Tearfund charity box and customers have given enough to support latrine number 5222 In Kol Village, Cambodia.
The charity will use the money raised to help provide access to better sanitation, clean water and hygiene education - helping people enjoy better health, go to school and work, and ultimately, begin to flush away poverty.
Graham and Katrina, owners of the card, gift and chocolate shop, said: "It just goes to show how all those pennies add up and can be used in a very practical way to help those less fortunate than us. Now we just need to save enough pennies to twin the toilet in our children's gift shop, Beebop & Loola."
