ETHAN Platen-Mills, a 10-year-old from Wimborne is to head to Vijayawada in India with his father to spend a week working with some of the 21,000 street children in the city.

The trip, which is to take place in June, is part of an exploratory project with Wimborne based Charity Road Trips. This is working with a small charity in the city which helps feed, clothe and teach the street children.

As part of his preparation, Ethan is helping at The Red Fort Indian restaurant to learn more about the language and customs. He is looking for donations of children's clothes for ages six to16 to take with him. DHL UK have provided their support by taking care of shipping the clothes out to India.

Clothes can be donated at the Red Fort or at St Michael's Middle and Hayeswood schools who are also supporting Ethan. Cash donations can be made at the Red Fort or online at www.charityroadtrips.org
