The home side went ahead just after the half-hour, Nathan Peprah-Annan feeding Jon Blake, who cut inside and fired past Ancin with the aid of a sizeable deflection.
Peprah-Annan added a spectacular third goal just short of the hour mark, cutting in from the left to score with a tremendous 30-yard blast.
Seven minutes later, the hosts’ Adam Costello fired the ball across the face of goal and Blake arrived at the far post to convert his second and his side’s fourth.
Yate tried to fight back, but the usually reliable Scott Wilson hit one effort just wide and then fired narrowly over Jason Harvell’s crossbar.
Wimborne had the last word, though, Brian getting on the end of another set-piece five minutes from time to complete his own double with a header.
The Magpies sit in tenth place in the league table ahead of their trip to Sholing on Saturday.
