A police search for a missing Wiltshire man has ended with the discovery of a body on a Dorset beach.

Simon Douthwaite, 41, of Purton, Swindon, was reported missing on Wednesday.

Coastguards and lifeboat crews from Lyme Regis, Beer and Portland began a search of the coast the same day after Mr Douthwaite’s car was found in the area.

A body was found on Monmouth Beach at around 10.15am yesterday.
