The Transport union RMT is to ballot nearly 500 bus company staff across Wiltshire and Dorset for both strike action and action short of a strike in a dispute over working conditions.

The row is over changes which the union says would leave members employed by Wilts and Dorset, part of the Go-Ahead Group southern buses division, working longer and harder hours for less return under “intolerable” pressure.

The ballot begins on January 23 and closes on February 7.
