Kieren Smith will serve at least 15 years in prison after murdering his mum, Leah Whittle

A teenager has been sentenced to life in prison after stabbing his mother to death at their Weymouth home.

17-year-old Kieren Smith was convicted of murder yesterday at Winchester Crown Court.

Judge Guy Boney handed Smith a life sentence, and was told he must serve at least 15 years in prison.

42-year-old Leah Whittle was stabbed 94 times at her address in Benville Road, Weymouth on July 21, 2012.
