Hundreds of pupils will take part in activities on Weymouth beach next week
Over 350 year 3, 4 and 5 pupils from six local schools will take part in a range of sports, cultural and arts activities. The beach party will allow the students to learn new skills and build confidence in order to continue with these activities.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Management Committee Chairman, Cllr Michael Goodman, said: "Weymouth Beach is a great venue for many sports events, providing an exciting atmosphere for all the participants and a great amphitheatre for spectators.

"I am sure all the school children from throughout Dorset will have a wonderful experience."
Kayaking, tchoukball, aerial art and sailing activities will be running throughout the day. With the venue for the London Olympic 2012 sailing events so close by, it is hoped that this event will inspire youngsters to get involved in water sports on a regular basis.
The festival is being organised by several organisations including local authorities, Weymouth College, Active Dorset and RELAYS.
Tristan Ward, Project Coordinator at RELAYS said: "This is a great opportunity for a wide range of children from all over Dorset to experience new exciting activities and benefits from a large sporting event.
"The aim of the event is all about letting the children have fun. I hope we can provide some lasting memories, inspire a few to pick up a new sport and send everyone home with a smile on their face.
"We would also like to express our thanks to the Chesil Trust for their kind donation of £1000 to the watersports."
