A council-run theatre in Dorset has been saved from closure after a funding cut was reversed by councillors.

Weymouth Pavilion has been given £60,000 back by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council.

Councillor Andy Blackwood said: “We’ve got a green light to carry on and run the pavilion and have it open when the Olympics is on.”

The theatre was expected to shut before the Games after the council voted against additional funds in December.
