'Weymouth 10' is organised by Egdon Heath Harriers and competitors will run along Weymouth Promenade to Overcombe Corner, before undertaking two laps of a circuit around Bowleaze and Preston. The runners will then head back to the finish in front of Weymouth Pavilion.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Head of Tourism and Events, Matt Ryan said: "Sports participation events are a vibrant part of the borough's annual events programme promoting good health, camaraderie and an inspiration to all.
"This is certainly one of Weymouth's most established annual sporting events and is a great opportunity for local people of all ages and abilities to participate and support.
"With plenty of support, live commentary and a stunning venue the event is always a great spectacle for all to enjoy."
A host of local running clubs will be represented, with a full range of age and ability categories.
