Weather warning issued for ice on roads across Dorset and Blackmore Vale

Ice is causing problems for drivers across Dorset and The Blackmore Vale this morning.

The slippery conditions are expected to continue into tomorrow with more show showers predicted for today.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across Dorset and the rest of South West England.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Sub-zero overnight temperatures will lead to ice forming where snow has fallen or melted during Sunday.

"In addition there is the risk of further localised snowfalls of some 1-3cm in places during Monday with a low risk of as much as 5cm.

"The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel during this continuing spell of wintry weather."

Most main routes have been treated by local authorities, but drivers should still take care - especially on rural roads.
