Toaster causes fire in kitchen of home near Dorchester

A distressed householder raised the alarm after a fire started in a house near Dorchester caused by an unattended toaster.

Crews from Dorchester and Beaminster attended the fire in the kitchen area of the house in Cattistock at 9.30am this morning.

The fire was caused by waffles left cooking in the toaster.

The occupant was alerted when the smoke alarm went off.
