Swanage Pier Trust appeal for £50,000 to repair damaged pier after storm
The Swanage Pier Trust have launched a campaign to raise £50,000 after the Dorset pier was severely damaged following a storm last week.
The Pier has been partially closed to the public - until the estimated £50,000 is raised to repair the extensive damage.
On the evening on Monday March 11, the high tide and raging sea tore through the Victorian pier, tearing off an external pile.
The mid-section walkway has been put in imminent danger of collapse.
