Support for Bereaved Parents from The Rosie Crane Trust
Loosing a son or daughter of any age is a devastating loss as Carol Crane well knows as she lost her daughter, Rosie, to leukaemia in 2006. Two years later she tried to use this terrible experience to help others through a support group for bereaved parents. The registered charity, The Rosie Crane Trust, has a 24 hour listening ear service staffed by volunteer trained bereaved parents, two drop-in centres and a befriending service.
The informal, friendly drop-ins are held at The South Street Centre, 20 South Street, Yeovil, BA20 1QE on the first Saturday in the month from 10.30 - 12.30 and at The Albemarle Centre, Albemarle Road, Taunton, TA1 1BA on the third Saturday in the month from 10.30 - 12.30.

The new Yeovil centre was opened by the Mayor of Yeovil on 1 September with The Deputy Lord Leuitenant of Somerset, Brian Tanner CBE, attending along with trustees, volunteers and bereaved patents.
The Taunton drop-in for bereaved parents has benefited from the Rosie's Chocolate Memories puddings that are selling in Brazz, the popular brasserie in Taunton, attached to The Castle Hotel. The pudding was created in memory of Rosie Crane who died from Leukaemia in 2004. The new Chef, Liam Finnegan, has developed the recipe and now Brazz is selling a new version of Rosie's Chocolate Memories. So far the owners Louise and Kit Chapman have donated an amazing £233 from the sale of the puddings to the Rosie Crane Trust which runs the drop-in to support bereaved parents. Louise became Patron of the Rosie Crane Trust earlier this year and the trust has found her support invaluable.
