Sturminster Newton man airlifted to hospital after A357 crash
A man was airlifted to hospital after being medically trapped in a road traffic collision near Sturminster Newton.
Dorset Police were called to the A357, Bagber outside Road Lane Farm at around 2.30pm on Monday December 31. The busy road was shut for nearly five hours - after two vehicles collided.
The crash involved a red Volkswagen registered to a Sturminster Newton man and a green Audi being driven by a woman from Dorchester - with both drivers taken to hospital.
One driver was freed from his Volkswagen as Dorset Fire and Rescue Service used hydraulic equipment to remove the roof and back seat of the vehicle.

The driver of the Volkswagen was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester - while the female driver of the Audi was taken to Yeovil Hospital.
The A357 was shut between the Sturminster Newton bridge and the junction with the A3030 near Bagber, and re-opened at around 7.15pm.
