Step behind the scenes at Poole's Lighthouse
AUDIENCES are invited to visit the unseen spaces at Poole’s Lighthouse in an innovative performance running over five days in early September.
Memory Point(s), available from 11am to 9pm from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th and Tuesday and Wednesday 10th and 11th September, has been created by Platform 4.
Visitors will wear headphones as they are taken on a sensory tour of the building, guided by a unique soundtrack. Their journey takes them along corridors, up and down stairs, looping around and retracing their steps, finding parts of the building that no audience has ever found before.
Groups of five will encounter mini-installations using film, shadow, light and costume along the way, as they are drawn into the performance.

The show is inspired by the richness of memory and how it defines our experiences in life.
Catherine Church of Platform 4 says: “Memory Point(s) is inspired by life events common to us all, such as holidays and family celebrations, birthdays and anniversaries, as well as the concept of home and its meaning to us.”
The performance is the result of four years’ collaborative work between Platform 4 and The Alzheimer’s Society’s Connections Club, a support group that works with people with early onset dementia.
All the collected memories will end up at the South Bank in London for productions next year.
