South west police and crime commissioners met for the first time
Police and crime commissioners and chief constables across the South West met for the first time yesterday to discuss ways of co-operating across the region.
The meeting, hosted by Martyn Underhill at the Dorset Police headquarters in Winfrith, was attended by members from the force alongside representatives from Avon and Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire constabularies.

Mr Underhill said: "This was a really useful joint meeting of PCCs and chief constables.
"This builds on our first ever PCCs meeting which took place just after we were elected.

"We discussed exploring collaborative working in relation to forensic submissions and other areas we are currently exploring, to improve efficiency and effectiveness to our public.
"It was also an opportunity to discuss recent government proposals in relation to the probation service and police complaints."
