Sounds of the sixties in Christchurch
THE sounds of the Sixties come to Christchurch’s Regent Centre next Thursday (3rd October), courtesy of The Overtures.
The group’s Bootleg ’60s Sight & Sound Show promises to transport the audience back to the era of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, Simon and Garfunkel, The Yardbirds and The Hollies, among many others who helped to make it such an exciting and ground-breaking musical decade.
Fronted by The Overtures, who have been hailed by Sir Elton John as “the best band of their kind in the world”, the tribute show will bring the memories flooding back as they play all the big hits.
The show is complemented by archive footage of the Swinging Sixties featuring the fashion, style and personalities of the era.
