The West Country has been warned to brace itself for the first snow of winter.

Parts of the South West were expected to see a light dusting of snow early this morning, as temperatures dropped following a period of heavy rain. Flurries of snow could fall on higher ground, including Exmoor and the Mendip Hills in Somerset.
