SNOW and ice did not deter guests from attending a fundraising ball at Kingston Maurward College near Dorchester in aid of a school in the southern Sudan.

Organisers Richard and Claire Budd of Dorchester said the effort people made to attend the event was heart-warming.

The ball was in aid of the Grace Secondary School which was built after local people raised £115,000 in two years. The appeal has now become a registered charity called Key to the Future.

The school opened in May. Mr and Mrs Budd are now inviting people to get involved as Friends of Grace - call 07854 173244 to find out more.
