Set your sights away from wildfowl during cold snap, shooters warned
People who shoot wildfowl birds are being told by their sport's governing body to exercise restraint during the cold snap.
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation is calling for all shooters to ease off shooting ducks, geese and waders, including reared mallard, who will be affected by ice.
Spokesman Simon Clarke said: "BASC calls for voluntary restraint in shooting ducks, geese and waders when it is clear that birds could be affected by the weather, but ahead of any statutory suspension of shooting."

“I'm sure the birds will be grateful for the suspension in shooting, this will give them a few days rest before they are blasted out of the skies in the name of 'sport'.
What hypocrites these people are, they claim to care, but wait until the ban is lifted, then they will be out in the estuaries as quick as a flash to shoot the birds to pieces.”
