Shoot-out win for football club
A BUSY week saw Wimborne Town reach the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy and then concede a late penalty to be denied all three points in the league.
The Magpies advanced in the Trophy after beating Banbury United in a replay at Cuthbury following a penalty shoot-out. Wimborne took the lead three times only to be pegged back each time as the game ended 3-3 after extra-time. The Magpies now have a home time with Merthyr Town on Saturday 27th October.

In the Southern League Division 1 S&W on Saturday Wimborne twice took the lead against Cirencester Town before the visitors made it 2-2 with an 89th penalty.
This Saturday (13th Oct) the Magpies are back in league action when they visit Clevedon Town, kick off 3pm. Then on Tuesday (16th Oct) they begin their Red Insure Cup campaign with a first round tie against Bashley at Cuthbury, kick off 7.45pm.
