Sherborne store’s super donation to a worthy cause
A SHERBORNE supermarket has donated more than £1,700 to one of the town’s charities.
Staff at Sainsbury’s fundraised throughout the past year for their chosen charity – the Friends of the Yeatman Hospital.
They organised events such as a dogs coffee morning, a fish and chip quiz night, a barn dance, three car boot sales, a coffee morning and also ran a pound in the pot campaign and dressed up in store.
The charity was voted to receive a year’s worth of support from the store by its customers last year.

Store manager Julie Archard said: “From volunteering to the many fundraising activities that we’ve held, our customers have been a driving force in making our fundraising efforts for The Friends of the Yeatman Hospital.
“The money we’ve raised is really going to help a local charity that’s close to many people’s hearts in Sherborne.”
Judy Copp, in charge of publicity for the Friends, said the charity was truly grateful for their help and very generous donation.
