Sherborne mayor to represent Dorset town at Buckingham Palace
THE mayor and mayoress of Sherborne will represent the town at a royal celebration.
Councillor Peter Rhodes and his wife Susan have won invitations to a garden party at Buckingham Palace in a draw of civic representatives from around the country.
The party will take place on Wednesday, May 22, and the couple are expecting their invitations from the Lord Chamberlain's office shortly.
The news was announced at the Sherborne Town Council meeting on Monday.

Mr Rhodes said he was looking forward to the occasion.
He said: "I was completely unaware that we had been entered for the draw.
"It is great news that we can represent Sherborne."
Garden parties have been hosted by Buckingham Palace since the 1860s and have evolved into a way of rewarding and recognising public service.
