Sherborne artist's chocolate design to help hungry children

A SHERBORNE artist is raising money for charity with a new collection.

Richard Bramble, based at the Old Dairy House, Silver lake, is donating funds from his Chocolate and Cocoa design to Action Against Hunger, which works to fight child hunger worldwide.

All proceeds from sales of the tea towel in the new range will be donated to the charity.

Mr Bramble, a former student at Sherborne School, formed a passion for art and chocolate from an early age.

He said: “My passion for artisan quality chocolate was ignited many years ago when I was painting in London creating my book about Britain’s top chefs.

“I came across the Chocolate Society which is now based not far from me in Wincanton. They have maintained their skill of making small batches of decadent chocolates.”

Mr Bramble, who now divides his time between his Dorset studio and market stalls in Sherborne and London, said he works with all manner of materials, from oil paint to textiles and his art ranges from the figurative to the abstract.

Mr Bramble now hopes the new collection will attract readers to try free samples of chocolate, look at the new designs and also be tempted to raise funds for charity.
