Friday night at Uncle Tom's Cabin, Wincanton sees the return of Tim Somerfiled - The Afro Ninja. Tim is a fantastic performer so make sure that you catch his set! Saturday Night at UTC has the brilliant Makeshift People (formerly Fight Like Kids). This great young band will show up many an old pro! Music from 9pm both nights.
Friday night at The Chough in Salisbury is where Tom Clements performs his superb acoustic set, with classic rock and pop covers as well as his own material. Starts 10pm. On Saturday from 9pm, Tom will be at Gillingham Football Club, and on Sunday he heads to Weymouth to play at The Belvedere from 8pm.
Nobody's Business play at the Cat Cafe in Wincanton tonight (Friday). This roots, blues and country duo feature Danny Ward on guitar and banjo and Colin Elliott on harmonica and jew's harp. If you missed them at the Cat before catch them this time- they're a delight! Good food, etc, free admission (8pm).

This Saturday is Holwell Village Hall Music Night and SwapShop. Entrance, refreshments and bar by donation - doors open 7pm. Starting with action songs (for children of all ages!) with Ben from Treehouse Theatre, also The Halsey Community Choir, followed by folk, roots and acoustic music from Homesick Gypsy, BearCat Collective and Cabin Fever Crew. There will also be a SwapShop where you can exchange excess produce and unwanted items (if you've nothing to swap, just pop a donation in the hat).

The Jo Burt Experience play at Above The Arch in Sherborne's Swan Yard on Wednesday 28th November. This stripped-back, acoustic version of The Jo Burt Experience sold out Above The Arch on their last visit. They have just returned from a successful tour of Canada. An entertaining storyteller and showman, Jo brings key members of his band, with rich three-part harmonies and addictive guitar parts. There's a new monthly live music night at the Music Saloon in Tisbury (upstairs at The Crown) starting on Thursday 6th December. The evening features Jim Penfold (of The Hollywood Killers), Matt Glide, Dan Evans and Jim Driscoll. Doors 8pm.
Acclaimed singer songwriters Rob Halligan and Gareth Davies-Jones return to Charlton on Friday 7th December for a fund raising concert in aid of St John's Church. They will perform a candlelit acoustic show at the church, repeating last year's successful appearance. The gig in the intimate surroundings of St John's will highlight new songs from both Rob and Gareth. Rob's song-writing reflects events in his life from his experiences living on the streets to losing his father in the terrorist events of 9/11. Rob has toured as a solo artist across the UK and has played in America, Canada, Hong Kong and Europe. He also sings with 1980s hit makers After The Fire. Professional since 2003, Irish-born Gareth has demonstrated an honesty, depth and passion with his beautifully arranged, evocative and challenging songs.
