The next Dorchester Bluesnight takes place this Saturday. The Motives brings together some of the finest talent from the European blues scene. Drawing their musical inspiration from 40s New York, 50s Chicago and 60s London, they combine Matt Taylor's electrifying guitar work with Jonny Dyke's virtuoso Hammond & piano over the rock solid rhythm section of Roy Martin (drums) and Andy Graham (bass). Acclaimed pianist Ben Waters plays at Dorset County Museum this Saturday from 8pm. Last year he was instrumental in re-forming The Rolling Stones to cut his star-studded tribute album to Ian Stewart (Boogie4Stu) which featured all the members of The Rolling Stones, Jools Holland and PJ Harvey. The proceeds from the album have already amassed a whopping £20,000 which has been donated to The British Heart Foundation, in memory of the late Ian Stewart who died of a sudden heart attack at a young age. On this rare solo tour Ben is performing music from "Boogie4Stu" as well as an eclectic mix of seminal rock 'n' roll, boogie woogie, blues and rip-roaring originals. Tickets on 01305 756827.
