Rohan Tungate will miss Poole Pirates' Elite League Grand Final meeting with Birmingham Brummies
ROHAN Tungate will miss Poole Pirates’ Elite League Speedway Grand Final first leg against the Birmingham Brummies tonight.
Tungate suffered a hand injury while riding for Ipswich and will not be fit in time for tonight’s meeting at Wimborne Road.
“Rohan was desperately hoping to ride tonight but things didn’t fall into place over the weekend and he is still troubled by the hand” explained Pirates promoter Matt Ford.
“He is hoping to be ready for next Monday but for now we will have to go into action tonight with rider replacement again in operation for him.

Pirates rider Greg Hancock is hoping to claim an Elite League title – something he hasn’t managed to do during 18 years riding in the UK.
“It’s not going to be easy” said Hancock. “Birmingham are a very solid team – they have been all season and they didn’t finish top of the table by chance.
“We are in with a shout and I would really love to be able to add the honour of British league winner to my C.V.”
Micky Dyer will also miss tonight’s meeting through illness – with Kyle Newman called into the Poole line-up.
The Pirates will operate rider replacement to cover for Tungate.
“This is a blow because Micky (Dyer) has proved time and time again that he can go out there and score vital points for us” added Ford.
“We have the desire throughout the side to go on to produce what would be a remarkable championship victory after such a tough season.
“There can be no arguments that we were on the button last Monday and if we can have all the lads fired up in the same way then anything is possible.”
