Weymouth & Portland is set to play its final part in the London 2012 Games with a procession through the streets this afternoon.

The rescheduled Moving Tides event will bring the Maritime Mix – London 2012's Cultural Olympiad by the Sea, to a spectacular close.

Local schools, colleges, artists and musical organisations have worked for months preparing for the Olympic finale. Moving Tides was originally scheduled to welcome the Olympic torch celebrations to Weymouth on July 12, but was postponed due to severe weather.

This afternoon's procession will start at Weymouth College at 4pm, arriving at Weymouth's Jubilee Clock Tower at around 5pm to continue the entertainment provided by the Bandstand Marathon band's performance from 1pm – 5pm, and will finish at the Pavilion around 5.45 pm.
