Renewed appeal after man has corrosive liquid thrown in face in Bournemouth

Detectives in Bournemouth investigating a serious assault in the Meyrick Park area of the town are renewing their appeal for witnesses.

The incident occurred between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday 27 December 2012 in Branksome Hill Road.

The victim, a 46-year-old man from Bournemouth, was badly injured after having corrosive liquid thrown in his face and remains in hospital.

Detective Inspector Becky Riggs, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: "This was an extremely nasty attack and the victim has been left with very serious injuries.

"The offender may have also received burn type injuries.

"I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact Dorset Police.

"I am particularly interested in any sightings of a white Nissan people carrier in the area of the offence at the time."

No arrests have been made.
