AFC Bournemouth could go top of League One with a win over Crewe Alexandra tonight.

The Cherries are just one point behind league leaders Tranmere Rovers, and a win tonight would guarantee top spot if Doncaster Rovers fail to beat MK Dons.

Last month, Bournemouth beat Crewe 3-1 at The Goldsands Stadium, but have not visited Alexandra Stadium in over three years.

Cherries manager Eddie Howe expects a tough test and no surprises as his side aim to end the night as league leaders.

"For 45 minutes in the previous game, they were probably the best side we have played since we came back and they caused us a lot of problems" said Howe.

"They have an excellent manager and a lot of home grown players who know the system and the philosophy of the club. It will be a really tough examination of us."

"We have to look at the home game and look at how many chances we created without playing at our best. We have proved that we can certainly cause them problems as well."
