Following on from their win over Hartlepool on Wednesday, the Cherries seem to have put their recent slump behind them.

Bournemouth are still yet to register a win at The Goldsands Stadium in 2013 - and Howe expects a tough test this afternoon.

"This has all the makings of a very good game" explained Howe.

"Crewe are renowned as being a very good football team and they have always played that way.

"We know it will be a difficult game. They are very well coached and tactically aware, so it will be a good test against a team with a good balance about them."

Crewe sit in thirteenth place in League One, but will fancy a playoff push as they are only six points behind the Cherries.

It won't be long before Bournemouth face crew again, when the Dorset side visit Gresty Road on February 12.

"For us, it will be nice to get back to normality" added Howe.

"Physically, the period we have had has been very difficult. We have had two cup ties, a game against Swindon in bad conditions and then two hard away games.

"We are back in the top six and we can go into the game full of confidence and hopefully that will reflect in our performance."
