Power cuts affect more than 20 homes in Sherborne
ELECTRICAL faults causing power cuts last night and this morning in Sherborne may continue through to next week, a spokeswoman for Southern Electric has said.
Around 24 homes in Sherborne, on Lower Acreman Street, the Abbey Close, and Acreman Place, found themselves without power from 6.50pm last night through to 4am this morning.
A second power cut affected homes again from 6.30am until 9.10am due to a fault in a low voltage underground cable located at Durrant Close.
Hannah Gleave, of South Electric power distribution, said teams were now arranging repairs next week to fix the problem.

She said: "There are a number of reasons why this could have happened. It could be simply wear and tear or even water damage. We won't know until our teams dig up the cable and this will be sometime next week. But the cables will need to be repaired.
"This will, unfortunately, affect residents' power once more but we are required to give 48 hours' notice before we carry out the work.
"If another power cut takes place before, we will act and carry out the work immediately.
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused to customers and thank them for their patience."
