Poole pensioner punched in face while opening door on New Year's Eve
A Poole pensioner was punched in the face when he opened his door to a stranger on New Year's Eve.
At around 9pm on Monday December 31, a 69-year-old man responded to a knock at his door along Creekmoor Lane.

When the victim answered his door, he was punched in the face - resulting in him receiving a black eye, as well as cuts and bruises to his face.
The offender then ran off in the direction of Fleetsbridge.

Police Constable Paul Mellor of Poole Police said: "This unprovoked attack is extremely rare and has had a significant impact on the victim.
"I would ask any witnesses, anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the time of this incident, and anyone with information about the person responsible, to call Dorset Police on 101.
"The suspect is described as a white man aged in his late twenties with a shaven head.
"He was wearing a long dark shirt and jeans."
No-one has been arrested.
